Andrew began his piping apprenticeship with the band in August 2024

Andrew started piping at school in Lochaber when he was 10 years old.

Andrew is a 4th year piping student at the Royal Conservatoire Of Scotland. Andrew started piping at school in Lochaber when he was 10 years old. Andrew went on to be taught by Iain MacFadyen in Kyle Of Lochalsh, where he still is tutored by Iain. Andrew has good experience in solo piping where he has come through from u15s up to now playing in senior competitions all over the country. Andrew has played with Oban Pipe Band in grade 2 and now plays in the Kilchoman Distillery Isle of Islay in grade 2.

Andrew is excited to have this opportunity at Preston Lodge to learn more about teaching
bagpipes and be a part of a successful piping school. He hopes he can inspire the students
here to stay keen with their piping and to go on to play in both bands and solos.
