Participating schools
Piping and drumming tuition takes place in Preston Lodge High School and in feeder primary schools.

Bands and clubs
Pupils can progress through the development and novice bands with the ultimate goal of joining the juvenile band which competes at the highest level.

Costs
Although tuition is free, taking part in the pipe band programme does incur some costs. However, we make every effort to ensure that no pupil is discouraged from taking part because of lack of finances.

Performance & Competitions
All pipe bands at Preston Lodge perform at events in school, in the community, and further afield in Scotland and sometimes abroad. The novice and juvenile bands also take part in local, regional and national competitions.

Learning
Pipers and drummers start their learning journey on the practice drum pad and the practice chanter.


Policies & Safeguarding
The Preston Lodge High School Pipe Band programme operates from the high school, and abides by school policies and practice.
