Piping and drumming tuition takes place in Preston Lodge High School and in feeder primary schools.
Pupils may start to learn in Primary 4 or above, depending on availability of spaces with the piping and drumming tutors.
All pupils who receive primary school tuition will continue to receive tuition at Preston Lodge High School. Nearly all lessons are on a one-to-one basis with the tutor and the days of the lessons are usually the same each week unless changed by the tutor or school teacher for a special occasion. The schools are:

Piping – Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

Preston Lodge High School Pipe Band is also open to pupils from other schools in East Lothian who would otherwise not have the opportunity to compete. Currently we also have pupils from North Berwick High School and Ross High School. The number of guest players is limited to 10% of the membership of the band.
