The Pipe Bands travelled to Bangor in Northern Ireland at the weekend to compete in the UK Pipe Band Championships. This was the first of 5 Major Championships for 2024 and both bands had very good performances in their respective grades.
Our Novice Band finished in 2nd Place in the Novice B grade and our Juvenile Band were 3rd in the Juvenile Grade.

Two of our tutors had success in the Grade 1 competition. Bass and Tenor tutor Morven Walker won the Best Drum Corps Prize with Inveraray and District and Lee Moore’s band St. Laurence O’Toole finished in first place overall. Former PL pupil Ruari Black also plays with St. Laurence O’Toole and this was his first Major title in Grade 1.
