The Pipe Band had been shortlisted as finalists in the East Lothian Courier Community Champions Awards in the live music category and piper Charlie Mack was also a finalist in the Young Community Champion Category. The Awards took place in the Corn Exchange in Haddington on Thursday 30 May.

The band performed at the entrance of the Corn Exchange and were applauded during the awards ceremony for their large numbers and great sound. They also said at the awards we were only to play one tune, but were delighted and amazed as the band performed for 30 minutes!

Unfortunately, the band and Charlie never won the awards. It was great to be nominated and we will hopefully be back again in the future. Below is a picture of the band tutors and Catriona (band secretary) at the awards ceremony.

We also decided to get a photo with a makeshift trophy for a bit of a laugh. Always room for a laugh with the pipe band team.
