World Pipe Band Championships 2026.

It was a long day in Glasgow and it was the first time we have taken three bands to take part. It was the first time our new novice B band played at the worlds and they managed to qualify for the final. That’s an amazing achievement, especially considering it was the first time the band has played at the world championships.

All 3 bands played well and did themselves, the school and their families proud.

Our juvenile band managed to place 5th overall and retain our position as the best state school pipe band in the world.

Our novice A band didn’t place, but they gave their all and played well in a strong grade.

We also had some time for cake as we sung happy birthday to Cruz and Lynn. Happy birthday guys, I hope you had a great day.

As a teaching team we couldn’t be prouder of all three bands. They have grown into a strong unit who all keep an eye on each other and want nothing but the best for each other.

Hats off to the winners, George Watsons College in juvenile, North Lanarkshire Schools in Novice A and St Thomas Episcopal School in Novice B.

The band will take the week off from band practices and get back to it as we finish off our season on the 5th of September at Peebles. We will be taking all 3 of our bands there and we’ll hopefully see you there too.
