After the competition on Saturday at Peebles we all headed back to the pans and had a great night at the Prestonpans Royal British Legion as we said goodbye and thank you to our school leavers and our two piping interns. We said goodbye to the below LEGENDARY school leavers.

They were presented with a quaich from the band with the message ‘forever friends of Preston Lodge Pipe Band’. We hope they all carry on playing and still come along to visit and see us at competitions.
We also presented the awards for our most improved piper, snare drummer and bass section drummer. All three of the winners were thoroughly deserved and I know personally it wasn’t an easy choice to make as the award could have went to all of the members. The winners are below.

They have had a huge impact on the band and their presence was felt throughout the season. Emotions were high after Peebles as some pupils couldn’t hide their sadness at them both leaving. We hope they both have a long and successful career in pipe band tuition.
The pipe band leadership team also received gifts from the parents and families of the pupils.

The leadership team never expect gifts, but it’s amazing to see how well appreciated they are and they extremely grateful for the generous gifts received.
It really was an emotional but fun evening. The main hall was PACKED FULL of bodies and it showed the sheer size of the PL pipe band family. It’s growing all the time and the love for it is real. All schools should have a pipe band, we love ours and we’d be lost without it.
